You have been subscribed to a public bug:
Ubuntu 14.04, x64, fully patched. This issue affects Ubuntu 13 too.
After installing gnome-session-fallback to utilize the classic desktop,
I am unable to open folders uner the Places menu (recall the classic
desktop has two top level menus - Applications and Places). When
clicking a folder from the menu (like "Home Folder", "Pictures", etc),
disk analyzer opens.
This appears to be a fairly prevelant problem affecting multiple
versions of the OS. For example:
* Ubuntu 14, http://superuser.com/q/848149
* Ubuntu 13, http://askubuntu.com/q/288270
The fix is to run the following command:
xdg-mime default nautilus.desktop inode/directory
Perhaps the package gnome-session-fallback should run this command
suring installation.
** Affects: gnome-flashback (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
