mouseemu has been seeded in Ubuntu since 2007, but has been orphaned in Debian since 2011 and has just been dropped from the Debian archive, citing synaptic as a better replacement.  Mouseemu is cited as being included in Ubuntu for one-button Macs.  I'm not sure whether this is still relevant, or whether the synaptic driver addresses this case?
