Thanks Christian! There is an open bug for this FTBFS and I added it to the changelog.

About upstreaming changes I forwarded this change here in this PR:

I am not sure about the benefit of it since upstream seems inactive for many years, that's why I didn't took the time to try to forward the changes introduced in 0.4.1ubuntu1.
