Blueprint changed by Simon Quigley:

Whiteboard changed:
  === Current Candidate ===
  lightdm-gtk-greeter, because it's working currently out-of-the-box. It needs to be switched to sddm when it will working on both installed and live ISO

  === Proposals with +++ and --- ===

  lxqt-lightdm-greeter

  SDDM
  + lightweight
  + qt based
  - does not support nvidia-prime
  - Need infrastructure change in Ubuntu (casper) and packaging (Kubuntu team are on it)

  === Discussion ===
  [joern-schoenyan] SDDM will give problems for people running a recent notebook with Nvidia Optimus if they want to use nvidia-prime. More or less the same problem people ran into when updating Lucid --> Precise (GDM --> LightDM). As LightDM is fine, I say
  +1 LightDM with LXQt-Greeter
  [gilir] lxqt-lightdm-greeter is not maintaned anymore by lxqt team. They recommend sddm
- [tsimonq2] lightdm and the Lubuntu greeter *works* but SDDM is what the LXQt team recommends
+ [tsimonq2] LightDM and the Lubuntu greeter *works* but SDDM is what the LXQt team recommends, LightDM is also GTK while SDDM is Qt
  +1 sddm with sddm-theme-lubuntu-chooser
