Fix seems solid.
`route -n` with up-to-date Vivid:
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface

10.17.75.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 0 wlan0

`route -n` after enabling proposed, updating packages, and rebooting:
