This is a request feature of kittyhawk-2.0 project, the private bug number is lp: #1398303 (this bug requires the code needs to be merged to pulseaudio of trusty by no later than June 15th), the public bug number is lp: #1286021.

All the patches are cherrypicked from upstream, some of them are modified a little bit since there are some context conflict. And the LFE patchset has been sent to pulseaudio of Wily already, the Wily is going to support 2.1 channels and LFE filter as well.

I have done the buliding test both under the trusty and kittyhawk-2.0 system, and have installed the updated pulseaudio on them as well, if the machine does not have subwoofer speaker, the pulseaudio will work as before, this update has no influence to the machines without subwoofer speaker; if the machine has a subwoofer speaker, the pulseaudio will provide a 2.1 channels profile to users to choose, if users choose 2.1 channles mode from gnome-sound-setting and play some sound through this profile, the lfe filter starts working, and we can hear the low frequcy sound from subwoofer speaker. Through test on both machines with and without subwoofer speaker, the updated pulseaudio worked very well and worked as expected.
