Thanks, I think actually we can instead sync (copy) the Debian package of debtags, version 1.12.3, as this has the existing Ubuntu changes and this proposed change incorporated. I'm going to do that.

So this merge proposal is "Rejected", but only because the fix is coming by another route. Cheers!
