I uploaded these patches directly to Debian, since auto-apt doesn't have a maintainer there ATM. We'll get it into Utopic via an automatic sync soon.

For 14.04, if you'd like to pursue the update there then please could you convert the bug reports into SRU compliant ones (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Procedure) and subscribe ubuntu-sponsors to them asking for a backport of 0.3.24 to trusty-proposed. If you need a hand with this feel free to grab me on IRC (I'm Laney in #ubuntu-motu on freenode)
