Thanks for the patch! I confirm it fixes the warnings/crashes at the end of users-admin. It just can't be applied in that way, it needs to become a broken-out debian/patches/ patch. I did that, added DEP-3 patch headers and a changelog, and uploaded https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-system-tools/3.0.0-3ubuntu4 .

I forwarded the debdiff to the Debian bug.
