Have you tried the following workaround? Assume the ssid of you network
is called "mynetwork":

sudo gedit /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/mynetwork

eliminate a line that says:
system-ca-certs=true

Substitute "mynetwork" by the name of your wifi network.
