@Timo, I will keep the (minor?) ubuntu version numbering in mind next time I encounter something like this (though hopefully I don't).

My Testing (pbuilder builds, and a previous PPA I had before version 1.0.1) confirms the same results as you had with your current PPA.  This branch was tested quite heavily by many people a few months back, and 12.04, as well as 14.04 on both 32 and 64 bit machines.  We deemed it very stable!
