I am starting to think that these failures in the tests are underlying issues in qt itself instead of just flaky unit tests. 

This is a ppa where you can see that the tests passed more times than not, when they fail it's always on a new test that has never failed previously (the tests that have failed previously have been disabled)

I am going to use canonistack to look for memoryleaks and threading issues with valgrind to see if I can find the root cause.  If you can help out or have an idea where I should look first let me know. :)
