Ok. Just looking at the changes in your branch on top of r13:

 - Could you please point out (and document in d/changelog) why each of the patches was dropped. You just mention that they're old.
 - Could you explain what you changed in the example config file?
 - Which build-depends had to be changed?

Can you try to get these changes into Debian as well?
