I also have this bug while installing the daily build (2013.10.14) of
kubuntu 13.10 / amd64 using locale Swiss/French. The installation is
successful if I install in English. As it was already reported, only
Kubuntu is affected; the corresponding daily build of Ubuntu installs OK
also with the locale set to Swiss/French.

I originally filed a new bug 1233677, which I'll mark as a duplicate of
this one.

Any chance this bug gets fixed before the final kubuntu 13.10 is
released?
