  issues so far, on 13.10. SMplayer has more features than
  gnome_mplayer...

  Tracking the bugs you have is more efficient that just dropping it. As we are not going to replace it so close to the LTS, let's keep it like this.
  
  [Andre] I don't know many option for Qt, but I guess to 14.10, the most
  natural option is smplayer or kmplayer...
