Whiteboard changed:
[amjjawad] not sure what kind of packages and/or tweaks are we talking
about here? IMHO, 14.04 should be as simple as possible, as stable as
possible and as lightweight as possible. This version needs to be done
with everyone from all types in mind. Windows Users, Basic Users, Linux
Users, etc.
[vanyok] I was thinking about it last night and suddenly I see this idea here. :-) We can discuss this option more, but I recommend to carefully bring it to the 14.10 brainstorming. Thanks!
UPD: this also corelates with the idea of adding new themes to the image and scripting around that (see the whiteboard on https://blueprints.launchpad.net/lubuntu-brainstorming/+spec/update-themes
[gilir] I don't know what you are talking about, but you can already
easily create custom sessions (see lubuntu-default-session, in
/etc/xdg/lxsession). But I don't see the point to maintain too much of
those session inside the official repositories.
[nio alias sudodus] I registered this blueprint with the intention to
provide easily selected 'tweaks' for beginners to select a desktop
environment with the look and feel of Windows, Mac, Unity, Gnome Classic
etc. At that time Federico Leoni had shared such tweaked desktops and we
had been discussing how to implement them. (I think custom sessions are
not easy to make for an average beginner coming from Windows XP.)
+
+ [gilir] I think leznek do an implementation of an OSX Theme using the
+ mechanism I described. Try to get in touch with him, and maybe propose a
+ merge proposal on lp:lubuntu-default-settings if you want to maintain
+ them.
