Whatever became of this proposal?

I would like to speak in favour of displaying at least the changes file for PPA's as that gives a better idea of what this update is likely to affect.  This would give me a better idea as to whether I want to install the update or not.

I read the code intending to implement this myself and learned a lot about the internals in the process.  Then I checked here to see whether there was a bzr repository to get the code from.

Is this just rotting on the branch because it is not up-to-date enough to merge into the trunk?
