Hello all,
About 3 weeks ago, my wife accepted a position in Idaho in the city
where we first lived after we got married, where our son was born, and
very close to where we met and got married. For us, it's very much
home, so it was an offer that we couldn't refuse.
Over the course of the next two weeks, we will be relocating. I will
have relatively limited access to many of the tools I use. I'm prepping
for giving myself access to what I can, but my main computer will be
packed-up this week.
Because I have limited time, that means I'll be limited in what I fix
in terms of my own packaging due to time constraints. I was hoping to
get distrho-ports[1] reviewed/accepted in time for Groovy, but it's a
rather large package and will take quite a bit of time for whatever
sponsor I can get. Therefore, I might wait on this one until I can get
MOTU status and do it myself.[2]
I had started an ubuntustudio-welcome[3] project mostly as a proof-of
concept, but I fear that it's getting late in the cycle and this might
have to wait for 21.04's cycle. This one is a fork of ubuntu-mate-
welcome that I'm attempting to de-mate-ify. However, I have been
retained by the Kubuntu Focus project to oversee the creation of a
similar application that could be used/reconfigured for Kubuntu,
Kubuntu Focus, and Ubuntu Studio. I think this will be a good project
that would be beneficial for all.
However, at this time, I'm awaiting the Ubuntu Archive Admins to review
the following applications uploaded in the NEW:
- For Ubuntu Studio:
- geonkick (new review)
- dragonfly-reverb (re-uploaded to fix a minor issue)
- new-session-manager (also re-uploaded to fix a minor issue)
- jack-mixer (python 3/gtk 3 port of application formerly in the
archive)
- For KDE Plasma/Kubuntu/Ubuntu Studio
- plasma-wallpaper-dynamic (dynamic wallpaper engine for Plasma)
If these reviews could be expedited due to my time constraints, I'd be
grateful[4].
Ubuntu Studio Team: Let me know if there's anything you need from me
ASAP. I encourage you all to look at the Groovy dailies and let me know
what you think so far. We did just release 20.04.1 which does have a
number of bug fixes, and there will probably be some more for 20.04.2.
Thanks everyone!
Erich
