something odd about ubuntu-desktop mounting

So bionic desktop, and eoan subiquity boot with /cdrom mountpoint and
no /cow pointpoint.

I was working on fixing degraded boot, and thought i had it all worked
out for both desktop & subiquity images.

Then I noticed something very odd about eoan desktop boot.

eoan desktop does not have /cdrom mount point like eoan subiquity or
bionic desktop do. And I can't figure out why or how.

Is that intentional, or did something go astray somewhere?
