While Ubuntu very kindly provides much infrastructure and resources to
allow flavours to develop and release their offerings besides the main
Ubuntu release, the actual day to day development and support is done by
unpaid volunteers; often very small teams of dedicated people. This
means we have to be realistic and more conservative in what we commit
to, and in this instance flavours committing to just 3 years LTS support
is one of these compromises.
