=== What was done engineering wise? ===
Finished Precise certification so all blocking bugs should have been raised by now. Continuing with Quantal and Precise+ weekly testing and reporting bugs as we go along.
Quantal development report is maintained at: http://people.canonical.com/~hwcert/hw-testing/current/development.html <http://people.canonical.com/%7Ehwcert/hw-testing/current/development.html> - however we aren't getting many results due to:
1023486 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/resolvconf/+bug/1023486> Cannot resolve domain names if eth0 is in /etc/network/interfaces
Precise+ report is maintained at: http://people.canonical.com/~hwcert/hw-testing/current/backports.html <http://people.canonical.com/%7Ehwcert/hw-testing/current/backports.html> - this isn't a lot of use without the Quantal results though.
=== What's about to land that might impact the other teams? ===
Nothing of note
=== Release Notes ===
None.
=== Summary of bugs working on by team ===
The following bugs are blocking certification of systems with Precise (* means new to the report):
1025438 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1025438> [HP Workstation z420, Z820]: Unity menu dock visually corrupted after resume from suspend *
Just raised against nvidia-graphics-drivers. Would be good if someone can comment on any additional info needed.
1028554 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1028554> [HP Workstation Z820, Z420]: System cannot use display port through Nvidia card *
Already tested upstream, awaiting further feedback
1028513 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1028513> [HP Workstation Z820]: Workstation becomes unresponsive during cpu stress test *
Needs upstream testing
1029101 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1029101> [eMachines ER-1401-57] - Fails suspend *
Needs upstream testing
1020835 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1020835> Can't search Bluetooth device on Atheros 9485 *
Needs upstream testing
1016195 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1016195> [Dell Latitude E6220] Crashes or exits with signal 9 when under heavy load * (TOP PRIORITY)
Still bisecting and an upstream bug needs to be raised
992603 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/992603> [Lenovo E525] Touchpad can become disabled after suspend/resume
Need to test some of the upstream kernels with fglrx installed to see if it helps the resume issue
994274 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/994274> [Lenovo SL410] Mute button requires you to hit a volume button
This is found to be a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/595896
994685 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/994685> [Dell Inspiron 17] Headphone jack outputs no sound (TOP PRIORITY)
This has been fix commited for a while for Precise. Any reason why this hasn't been released via -proposed?
994790 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/994790> [Dell XT3] Firewire does not work
Tested with upstream kernel, makes things worse - system won't boot to desktop (gets stuck on splash screen)
994809 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/994809> [Dell XT3] Wi-fi slider doesn't remove hard block from wi-fi device
Hasn't been tested with the upstream kernel yet, but is the same system as above so will probably be unable to gain any info from this kernel.
978929 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/978929> [Lenovo Thinkpad T420] SD Card-reader non functional
This is an upstream issue and we opened http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43370. However we have a growing suspicion that the card reader is actually broken on this system.
990575 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/990575> Entire desktop becomes unresponsive after suspend/resume (TOP PRIORITY)
Still testing kernels, latest one is being followed up on
1002703 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1002703> Broadcom STA driver can't install on systems
Bug still occurs with -updates. Installing headers and brcmwl-kernel-source leads to wireless working
1014744 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1014744> [Lenovo Thinkpad SL510] Mute buttons don't work
This has also been marked as a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/595896
1008867 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1008867> can't wake up from suspend
Debugging of this issue is progressing
992720 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/992720> [Lenovo E420s] Hitting brightness keys causes machine to lock up
Tested 3.2-rc2, now need to bisect between v3.2-rc3 and v3.2-rc5
759213 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/759213> [HP Compaq 6005 Pro] Suspend does not resume
We need to open an upstream bug.
1012740 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1012740> [Dell Latitude E6410] Becomes unresponsive after suspending/resuming several times
Getting close, now testing hand spun test kernels
1002170 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1002170> system halted while idled for a long time.
Being worked on and upstream bug exists and has been linked
1009585 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1009585> [Dell Vostro 460]: System is unresponsive after Unity login screen.
Bisection has now begun but we need to follow up request from last week
992087 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/992087> [Vostro 3450] No sound from internal speakers
We need to raise an upstream bug
=== Dependencies on other teams, blocking items? ===
1013843 <https://launchpad.net/bugs/1013843> resolv.conf empty when doing PXE installations
We're still hacking around this and hoping for a resolution soon
1021293 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/checkbox-satellite/+bug/1021293> Ubuntu 12.04 install stalls when doing apt-get upgrade
Glad to see fixes are still coming in for this, we need to test them and see if it solves our problem.
1023486 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/resolvconf/+bug/1023486> Cannot resolve domain names if eth0 is in /etc/network/interfaces
We can perhaps workaround this. Will escalate the bug further next week if there are any problems.
=== Issues? ===
