== What was done engineering wise? ==
Moved edubuntu-fonts to the edubuntu-meta package.
Dropped all our java packages (freemind and geogebra) to get our
Edubuntu-only package list to a reasonable amount for the LTS.
Re-added gbrainy to our desktop seed as it's a nice tool and mono is
still in main.
Updated our edubuntu-desktop-kde meta package to clearly state it's
supported as a best effort from the Edubuntu team and won't get LTS
support. We'll also very likely introduce another meta package for
educational packages we recommend but won't support (including
freemind and geogebra).
Started working on our installer addons a bit, fixing our package
selection addon (not uploaded yet), I plan on doing the rest of our
installer fixes within the next few days, clearing up a good part of
our work items.
Automated testing has been running and posting results to the tracker
everyday including for other flavours (Xubuntu is the only one failing
all the upgrade tests so far).
Jonathan attended the TB meeting on Monday with Kubuntu to try and
move things forward for LTS support. As Kubuntu's application was sent
a bit late, the TB will be reviewing both Edubuntu's and Kubuntu's LTS
application at their next meeting on the 9th of January (during the
Canonical Engineering Sprint).
== What's about to land that might impact the other teams? ==
It actually already landed but isn't necessarily on all the dailies
yet. I uploaded a new casper yesterday changing the default username
and hostname to that of the media.
Ubuntu should keep its ubuntu/ubuntu everywhere, Edubuntu will have
edubuntu/edubuntu, ...
So far, only a small portion of Ubiquity seems affected by the change
(doesn't prevent installation), a fix has been commited to Ubiquity's
trunk. If you see anything else breaking because of that change of
username and hostname, let me know and I'll have a look.
== Summary of bugs working on by team (reasonably reliable) ==
I've been working on
- https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/edubuntu-live/+bug/872727
(edubuntu-packages ubiquity step crashing)
(move edubuntu-fonts to edubuntu-meta)
== Dependencies on other teams, blocking items ==
Now that Kubuntu has sent its LTS application (for 5 years LTS), I
don't think we have any blocker left.
