<div dir="ltr"> Hi All, I wanted to write concerning Xubuntu's QA and testing efforts. We currently have a Xubuntu Testing team on Launchpad [1], but I don't think it is being leveraged too well. For the most part, it seems like people sign up for the team, but they aren't engaged by anyone as far as being on a list-serve or knowing who to contact with questions. And I don't think that they are being told what "testing" may actually entail, and may just see testing as running the development version of Xubuntu and occasionally filing bugs. The testing wiki has some sections that are out of date, too, though Dave Morley has updated portions of it. Partly for these reasons, I had previously proposed eliminating the xubuntu-testers team and migrating those members over to the regular Ubuntu QA/testing teams, but didn't reach much of consensus on the matter. I thought that was a good idea, based on knowing that sometimes testers can help out with multiple tests (e.g., both Kubuntu and Xubuntu tests), and that having one primary team would keep everyone up to date on processes and best-practices. Ubuntu QA has come a long way in the past two years. :) Things change quickly, and it would be difficult (and likely a waste of time) to try and keep the Xubuntu testing wiki up to date with the changes on the Ubuntu QA/Testing wiki.... Now that Ubuntu QA has its own mailing list, and seems to be undergoing some changes, I thought I'd bring this up again. Would migrating xubuntu-testers over to ubuntu-qa (in whatever way would work for you all) be a good idea? What do you think would work best for you? I would of course also be open someone from the Ubuntu QA team leading-up the Xubuntu testing efforts.
