Hi Michael,


the issue in question happened because you are running an older driver 
(535.54.03, almost a year old) with a newer kernel. The GPL symbol issue 
was fixed in the latest NVIDIA driver releases (535.161.08) paired with 
the latest kernels.

Also, I would like to know how this issue came to be. Why did you choose 
to use the DKMS driver (nvidia-dkms-535-server) directly and not the one 
provided by linux-restricted-modules package? This would ensure the 
driver is updated along with the kernel and such an issue would not occur.
