Hi ....  I tried to reply when the first message was posted, and 
realised I was not subscribed.  I tried to install Lubuntu last week on 
and older computer and failed miserably - I think due to video 
problems.  However, I had no problem at all with Xubuntu.  If you can't 
load Lubuntu, please give it a try.
