Slow Ubuntu on Virtualbox

i have that too. i tried to install a quantal 64 vm under virtualbox 
(win7) on monday/tuesday. the system i got was more or less unusable, 
BOTH 3d and 2d (Core i3, loads of RAM and virtual graphic memory). 
precise is fine.
