Intermittently freezing top bar.

It works one moment, then it doesn't work at another.  I would file this
bug, but I'm not sure how to file a spontaneous bug.

I notice that when I type a lot of characters for whatever reason, from a
letter to an essay, after some time, the top bar doesn't respond. And then,
it magically works again.  But the delay is almost unbearable!  It feels
jagged at times.
