Laptop testing: upgrade after installing

Hello dear ubuntu qa,

On laptop testing steps (

), the first step after installing and before start testing shouldn't be
sudo aptitude update && sudo aptitude upgrade ?

I started testing and something crashed. But I couldn't send the issue
because apport said there were some outdated packages.

I know it is a wiki and I can edit the page, but I wanted to ask first
because there might be a reason against updating the software.
