depency not satisfiable

Please I need help with repositories and dependencies. I downloaded some software from getdeb.org but when I tried installing it, I got a message that dependencies were not satisfiable. I\m using the UBUNTU Desktop edition 9.04. I need help soon. Where can i also get authentic ubuntu \ linux software
