Hey Chris,

Both binary packages related to LDTP (ldtp & python-ldtp) are being
compiled as usual for LPIA.

For Intrepid the version available is LDTP 1.2 [1]. This version is good
enough to try the ldtp-editor (available in python-ldtp). Install both
packages and run ldtp-editor on a command line. Once opened, try to
record something. If it works, then LDTP is working.

The UME interface is different and these tests rely a lot on the
interface. The aim of the testing library [2] is to separate the
interface from the actual test cases:

___________________ ______________
| | | |
| testing-library |<-------------| Test Cases |
| ______________ | |____________|
| | | |
| | Interface | |
| |_____________| |
|__________________|

The good thing about decoupling interface and tests is that we could
rewrite the testing-library for UME and reuse all the test-cases written
for Ubuntu Desktop out of the box.

Once you have confirmed that LDTP is working for UME, we could start
working together on the port of the testing library.

Thanks,
Ara.
