There were some (copy / paste) typos in the instructions.

In Ubuntu we have to download the .deb packages.
Linux (deb): x86 <http://www.libreoffice.org/download/?type=deb-x86> or
x86_64 <http://www.libreoffice.org/download/?type=deb-x86_64>

And the installation of .deb packages is done by dpkg -i:
sudo dpkg -i *deb
