Is this mailing list defunct?

Arch jokes aside, I always wonder why people find rolling release popular.
Surely it is less stable, with frequent updates? What about the bloat issue?
I don't know about you, but I find that Ubuntu gets a little heavy and
sluggish after a couple of cycles, so I install a new version fresh rather
than upgrade (the fact that upgrading releases has been less than perfect is
another matter altogether).
