Ubuntu-Pakistan!! Quick Introduction!

Hi EveryOne,

         I have been scanning this list from couple of weeks , though
i haven't practically done any thing ;of course i mean,  i haven't
even installed or at least saw this OS.
I'll be glad if some here can pass a pointer to some good document for
this *or* it will be enough worthy if some one can spare his time to
answer following quick questions rather suggesting the 0x0bc pages
document;-).

1) Which kernel is used and what version . [ i hope it is 2.4 and
above, which was ported for Linux ]
2) What are the ideal tools for development.
3) What is the status of device drivers , are you people working on
that part too?
4) How about web services and what it the idea shell on this system.

I hope answer would be not the same for all questions. [ It is like
"Linux" and just a GUI replica on same kernel;-)  ]
