Unless if you are a developer something like you develop utilities/applications that relies heavily on X-dev, I can't see any reason why you aren't comfortable with another window server alternative, since it is transparent to the user, also Wayland was develop with backward compatibility in mind, so the transition is smooth. The difference is that we can expect GNOME and KDE to be faster to render windows than what we have today.

Unless someone in the community will provide for us a mock-up or something, we will wait for four years from now to fully experience the wayland based desktop. 




I would be interested to know if anyone has had real face time with Wayland. Just when I was starting to get comfortable with X and Gnome....*sigh*
