Dan says:

'yung dialer; another option ay kppp (if you installed KDE) manual
configuration. Pero I'm sure you could set it up either with your post paid
or prepaid ISP (note: kung Pacific/SurfMaxx eh wag mong itanong sa kanila,
di daw gumagana ang systems nila with Linux sabi sa friend ko. FYI: TCP/IP
din ang protocol sa Linux plus others). "yung modem mo cguro ay Internal
Modem most probably di ma-detect yan. Kung Breezy Badger yan sure ako dyan.
Name your modem, kung dual boot ka mag-boot ka sa Windows(sorry) and sa
keyboard mo "press" mo "windows logo" and "Pause/Break" key to get to system
properties then click mo hardware tab then device manager.(4 Win2K or XP).
Then you would know kung ano name ng modem mo. Try going to
http://linmodems.org to know more. May nag-write ng drivers for winmodem. I
got mine somewhere, sorry i forgot conexant modem ko. Mostly, nasa office
ako eh.

"yung floppy mount mo eh, ganito basic no offense intended - may floppy ka
bang nakasubo sa floppy drive mo pag nagma-mount ka? try to see to the
effect like this explore mo usually sa /mount (/mnt) directory kung may
folder na floppy. Then sa /etc directory try to view yung file na fstab or
mtab with gedit or nedit or any text editor marami eh joe etc. Tingnan mo
kung may entry para sa floppy. Kung may entry para sa floppy at may folder
para sa floppy. Try mo 'to "mount /mnt/floppy" while may floppy sa floppy
drive sa terminal window. Or in some other systems /media ang directory for
mounting. To know more about adding entry type sa fstab;sa terminal (command
window or dos sa Windows) type "man mount".

Hope that helps kahit paano.

Cordially,

Dan
