Do a "sudo pppconfig" (without the apostrophe) at the console and a very
straightforward text based dial-up configuration wizard is there to help
you.

After that, try installing wvdial and gnome-ppp with Synaptic for a GUI
approach.

also, i can't mount my floppy drive. my floppy's brand is sony.


Places --> Computer --> Floppy 1 usually works.
