** Description changed:

  Since DPDK 22.11.3 the dpdk-testpmd application will exit immediately
- when run in non-interactive mode.
+ when run in non-interactive mode.  This commit looks suspicious [0].
  
- While this is an upstream DPDK bug there is patches in-flight [0] in OVS

  to change the way the dpdk-testpmd application is invoked.
  
  Until that lands we can work around this issue by passing `--stats
