Francois, Thanks for reporting this and for the details.

Ideally we can pick up a new stable point release from upstream heat so
that we can get all of the new fixes that have been back-ported to
upstream stable/xena. I will check and see if they are planning a new
point release anytime soon.

Corey

Title:
Heat : Fail to create server_group (Xena)

Status in Ubuntu Cloud Archive:
  Triaged

Bug description:
I am experiencing the bug described here : https://storyboard.openstack.org/#!/story/2009164
  in a fresh Xena install.

I can't create a heat stack via Magnum (I basically cannot use Magnum). I get the following error :
"Create_Failed: Resource CREATE failed: TypeError: resources.master_nodes_server_group: create() got an unexpected keyword argument 'policies'".

There was a fix released and merged : https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/heat/+/814353
However this fix is not present in the cloud-archive repository.

I am currently solving this issue by manually applying the patch and it solves my issue :
  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/heat/+/814353/2/heat/engine/resources/openstack/nova/server_group.py.

Could cloud-archive:xena repository be update to include this fix ?
