As all helpdesks will ask... are you using the latest version of our
software???

You're stuck a bit in the middle, as 8.04 is the LTS version, and
current is 9.10. Intrepid - 8.10 - was a poor quality release IMO, so
I'd recommend upgrading to Kosmic, and seeing if you still have the
problem.
