[ubuntu-nz] updates not installing ??

Hmm seems strange to me.
If you go with what Gary suggests that should do it. Although from the
terminal, I'd be going ..
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
If that is still seems to going wrong, could you try ..
sudo apt-get update > ~/updatefail.txt
sudo apt-get -y dist-upgrade >> ~/updatefail.txt
And either email that file through to me (probably not the list) or copy
the contents into http://paste.ubuntu.com and send the link. That file
will be in your home directory.
