Hello all
having recently joined this list I was beginning to wonder if it is alive - good to see!!
Now I have a request - beginning of next year I want to run a lesson for some scouts on the progress in OS development.
We will be looking in the advances and structure of the various systems
I would need a original release of Ubuntu 4.10, 5.04, 5.10 from Canocial to achieve that.
I have managed to scrounge the rest of the disks from various sources.
If you have a original disk lying in a drawer and u no longer need it - i would be grateful if you can snail mail it to
23 oldwood St. CHCH
Thanks in advance
Papabear

How do you guys deal with tiling in gnome?
I have tried several compiz plugins but can't seem to find anything
that works like I want.

Hey how's it going fellow kiwis. I'm just wondering whether the NZ Ubuntu
team is still active? I don't see much stuff happening round these parts.
Anyway, I'm new to the NZ team - been using Ubuntu for about a year now and
reckon it's time I join the NZ LoCo team. You can see my personal wiki page
here:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/humphreybc
I'm a student in Dunedin, so i'm normally down here, or in Christchurch. My
contact details are in my signature, don't forget to check out my blog,
interesting.co.nz
Generally I use the username humphreybc for Ubuntu Forums, Launchpad and
IRC.

There is not a lot of volume on this mailing list but welcome!.
There are local interest groups (I belong to the bay of plenty linux
users group) so you may find more activity locally than you do on this
list.
I would think there is a pretty active linux community in Dunedin. If
you want to join the BOP group the address is
http://groups.google.co.nz/group/bop-linux?hl=en-GB
We are working on a new web site, hopefully that will be up soon.

Hey Benjamin,
Yup, we are a fairly quiet bunch. I've started thinking a bit more
about how we can do things .. with LCA coming up in Wellington next
year, it might be a chance if I can find myself getting organised to
start pushing it a bit more.
Most discussion seems to happen on irc (#ubuntu-nz on freenode) ..
although some days are people saying 'morning' to each other and that's
about it ;)
Anyway welcome etc.
