[ubuntu-nz] Trying to set up ubuntu 7.04 need help.

Hi ,
    I am brand new to Linux based systems and have been trying to set up a system using Ubuntu 7.04 as I am sick to death of microsoft among other reasons. 
So far I have Ubuntu 7.04 loaded, most things running and I have to say I am very impressed with Ubuntu 7.04, I want to convert my main PC over to it full time, but I just can't get my USB ADSL modem or my old HSP56 dial-up modem running.
I have a little exposure in setting PC's up in msdos but I am find trying to come up too speed with Ubuntu exstreamly frustrating.
Do you know anyone in the taranaki area who could help me come up to speed with ubuntu ??
