Basically make sure it is a recent Intel based unit with Intel graphics
and Intel wireless, and then run Feisty.

You will find most of the core Ubuntu/RedHat/Novell teams run IBM T series
laptops.

Alse DSE are selling on a HP Laptop that is Ubuntu certified.
