If its Winmodem, yes you'll probably have a hard time as it involves
searching, downloading and install the driver from source (usually its
`./configure && make && make install` but there are more esoteric ones
around ;-) Then use custom initialization strings on the modem. Even
then you're not guaranteed to get full speed (iirc, 56kbps v.92
connexants reduce it down to 24kbps)
