status of ubuntu-nordic.org

Hi all,

Canonical managing the domain should work fine, as long as they accept
being responsible for it in the first place. They currently do that for us
for spreadubuntu.org and although we have had some hickups, it works mostly
like a charm. The SpreadUbuntu hosting is managed by ourselves as we have a
rather unusual Drupal setup, at least unusual for general LoCo usage.

As for loco hosting my experience there is that it can be quite
restrictive. Not sure if things have changed, but the ubuntu-ec got
Canonical managed hosting, but we never really used it as we had no control
of the layout or any additions to it (it was plain Drupal 6 with the Ubuntu
LoCo theme).

So, out of my rather outdated experience, I would recommend domain
management by Canonical and hosting elsewhere, unless you manage come to an
agreement regarding your hosting requirements with them.

That would be my NOK 0,02 ;-)
