Hoe het precies in Ubuntu gaat, weet ik niet maar in Debian (De moeder van
Ubuntu) werkt het volgende:
In een terminal

sudo apt-get update

Hiermee worden de laatste index bestanden opgehaald

sudo dselect update

Met dit commando worden alle pakketten geüpdatet en
eventuele afhankelijkheden worden ook geïnstalleerd.
