Is de adapter stuk?

Doet die het elders wel? Bijvoorbeeld onder Windows (soms kan Windows
nog wel eens nuttig zijn). Probeer het eventueel bij de buurman, daar
zal je wifi nog wel zichtbaar zijn denk ik.
