Youngbin Han makes another call for talk and workshop proposals
[UbuCon Asia 2022 - Nov 26-27 Seoul, South Korea], noting the date for
submissions has been extended by two weeks. The reason for this is
provided, in that with the 42 proposals provided, there weren't enough
"Workshops, Korean sessions and sessions with Intermediate/Advanced
level difficulty" with a short mention on what proposals so far are
for. Details on making a proposal, travel sponsorship & more are
given.

Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols starts by telling us Linux has been "the
most popular virtual machine (VM) operating system on Microsoft Azure"
for three years now. Continuing on, Steven then moves to the recent
Ubuntu 18.04 issues on Azure. He gives the date of the start of the
problem, and when it ended. We are told of the reason for the problem,
and what the effects were. We are also told why it only impacted
Azure, given clues on fixing it, and reminded to always check our
production systems and DNS.

Ubuntu's Official App ===

Sagar Sharma writes that Ubuntu is considered "one of the best"
distributions for beginners, but that GNOME Software Center needs to
improve. Sagar tells us why, and that Canonical and others have teamed
up to produce a lightweight, flutter-based alternative to Ubuntu
Software Center. With some screenshots, we are told what Sagar sees in
it, and then asked if this is going to replace the Ubuntu Software.

Michael Larabel reminds us of some of the other RISC-V boards Ubuntu
supports, we are now told Ubuntu 22.10 will support the Sipeed
LicheeRV board; a cheap board that "starts at $16.90 USD". We are
given some details of the board, and reminded that whilst it's slower
than a Raspberry Pi, it still has many IoT uses. We are told of a
feature free exception, and plans for a DKMS-based WiFi driver.
