highest specifications of all the Ubuntu phones yet and one the
highest spec smartphones on the market. It will be available for

Dustin Kirkland notes Ubuntu 16.04 LTS is "only a few short weeks
away" and blogs about its ZFS. He explains that ZFS is a combination
of volume manager and filesystem and now [OpenZFS] is available to
Ubuntu. He recounts a few "killer" features of ZFS, like copy-on-write
cloning, continuous integrity checking, automatic repair and efficient

few things with OpenZFS on Ubuntu.

devices in the open source space, writing that in the midst of several
failures, Canonical and Ubuntu are forging ahead with a view toward
convergence of devices. He speaks with engineers on the project,
sharing details about how Snappy, cloud and the relationship between
devices will play a role in their success, concluding "After talking

Michael Larabel informs us that Ubuntu developers have been working on
ZFS support for Ubuntu 16.04. He writes "ZFS support will be
automatically built into the Ubuntu Linux kernel releases, the module
will automatically load when needed, zfsutils-linux is part of the
main Ubuntu archive."

=== Ubuntu Touch OTA-9.1 Hotfix Still in the Works, Dekko Might Come
with OTA-10 ===

Marius Nestor gives us an overview of the actual development of Ubuntu
Touch. The upcoming OTA-9.1 hotfix patches a Mir bug reported by many
users. OTA-10 is expected in March 2016 and introduces a new Dialer
app with small visual changes and a new Web Browser with more
convergence features. Developers are also thinking about making Dekko
the default email client.
