G'day Huston
Thanks for your enquiry. Are you familiar with IRC? if so myself and
bashing-om can be found there much of every day in the #ubuntu-news channel.
( If you're not familiar with IRC its mentioned here (
https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/ubuntu-weekly-newsletter/359) and here (
https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/ubuntu-weekly-newsletter/40911) with the
second page containing a link at the bottom of the page that will allow you
to join from your web browser if you don't have irc client software
installed )
The second link I provided explains much of what we do in the Ubuntu News
Team; we're at the 'collection' phase of the Weekly Newsletter, which you
can ask bashing-om (Billy) about on IRC if you wish. Come Saturday (my
local time) I'll create summaries for details, before we proceed to other
stages..
We have some docs, eg.
https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/ubuntu-weekly-newsletter-style-guidelines/40056
shows style guidelines for summaries etc,
https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/ubuntu-weekly-newsletter-editing-policies/40058
for editing, review, and we have more for publish etc.
If you'd like to know more, I'll suggest trying to get in touch with us on
IRC in #ubuntu-news (libera). If you've not used IRC before, just ask a
question & be patient; people will respond when they're able to; with
myself usually having a machine on ~16 hours a day; but I'm not always
available for all that time; thus I'll respond when I can. If your timezone
better suits Bashing-om or another; someone else will help you (if you're
patient). We can guide you from there too.
You'll need an account on the Ubuntu Discourse; you'll also need to be
level 1 (or higher) in privileges, so if you don't have an account; you'll
need to 'read' some pages on the site etc. so the site software 'promotes'
you to a higher level.
